What is the Hermit Crab Shell Airlift?
What is the Hermit Crab Shell Airlift?
In 1948, planes flew supplies into a city cut off from survival. It was called the Berlin Airlift.
Today, the mission continues—only smaller, and a lot crabbier.
Call it Shell Express—a global delivery service, but for hermit crabs.
Right now, too many crabs are trapped in toxic painted shells—or worse, going shell-less.
The Shell Airlift ships them the real deal: safe, natural seashells they can actually live and grow in.
And here’s the big picture: we’re building the world’s first Shell Museum.
Every donated shell does double duty—housing a crab and becoming part of a living exhibit that shows why real shells matter and why crabs deserve better than plastic knockoffs.
How you can help:
Donate funds – to support the rescue program and help us finish our upcoming documentary.
Send real shells – every shell gives a crab a home and helps build the Shell Museum.
Contribute to the music video – if enough funds are raised, we’ll produce the full video for The Shell Airlift Swing, spreading awareness through music and storytelling.
Donate a shell + Donate to the fund → Save a crab → Build the museum.
